28 Dis MCP:YAMAHA ONE-MAKE OPEN FOR REGISTRATION
Aspiring riders looking to kick start their career in the PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship will get a chance to do so as Hong Leong Yamaha announced the 2014 intake for the Yamaha one-make series is now open for registration.
This one-make class has been instrumental in the discovery of some of Malaysia’s best racers to date. Moto2 bound Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah and Mohd Ramdan Rosli (SuperSports 600cc) started their career in the Yamaha series while Moto3 rider, Mohd Zulfahmi Khairuddin began his with the Junior GP Racing Dream in 2007.
Others en route to making their mark on the international level includes, Mohd Fitri Ashraf Razali, Ahmad Afif Amran and Mohd Hafiza Rofa.
Hence it is advisable for young riders to join the one-make class to start their career – a proven platform to develop new talents. It is cost friendly as the manufacturers will provide the bikes and subsidize racing equipment. Furthermore, the competition runs on a level playing field where each contestant is given the same amount of exposure, technical support and learning experiences.
To apply, riders must be of Malaysian nationality, between 13 to 20 years old and have no prior experience racing in the Cub Prix Championship. Applicants can contact Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd at 03-8733 8787 to register. Closing date for registration is on 30 January 2014.
