18 Mei ARRC ROUND 2: QUALIFYING REPORT
Mohd Zamri Baba successfully qualified for a front row start for Sunday’s PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship race in Indonesia today.
The PETRONAS Hong Leong Yamaha rider who showed strong form in the practice sessions yesterday landed himself second on the SuperSports 600cc grid having posted a best lap time of 1’30.623s in the 40-minute qualifying session.
Starting the race from pole would be compatriot and long-time rival, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman with 1’30.383s while Indonesian rider, M.Fadli took third place on the grid with 1’30.749s.
Meanwhile, Mohd Ramdan Rosli of PETRONAS Hong Leong Yamaha is set to take off from 20th placing having clocked in a best lap of 1’32.535s.
In the Underbone 115cc, Ahmad Afif Amran found himself disqualified from the qualifying sessions as a penalty for misusing the service road.
The PETRONAS Hong Leong Yamaha rider however will continue with Sunday’s race but he will start from last place on the grid.
Outdo Koyoko Motul Yamaha Racing riders, Mohd Adib Rosley and Mohd Azhar Abdul Jalil on the other hand qualified for 14th and 18th spot on the grid respectively.
