HONG LEONG YAMAHA MOTOR LAUNCHES THE NEW 2024 YAMAHA Y16ZR

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 JAN 2024 – Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (“HLYM”) proudly introduces its 2024 Yamaha Y16ZR, the most advanced sports MOPED in the market designed to turn heads at every corner with its new looks and riding technologies, bringing next-level riding experience for all motorcycle enthusiasts in Malaysia.

The 2024 Yamaha Y16ZR comes in a more aggressive and sporty new look complemented by the sleek contours of the new front fairing and front visor. Equipped with the new Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and a bigger disc brake on its front, the bike introduces a new level of control and better braking power to provide handling dynamics for confidence in every ride.

During the launch of the 2024 Yamaha Y16ZR, Professor Dato’ Dr. Jim Khor Mun Wei, Group Managing Director of HLYM said, “This is the first time we are launching this highly anticipated model with the public and we are confident that the 2024 Yamaha Y16ZR not only provides the most sophisticated style and performance to complement the rider’s need but also the most advanced riding technologies in the premium MOPED category to enhance Yamaha riders’ riding experience, whether it is for their daily commute or the weekend travel.”

The 2024 Yamaha Y16ZR retains its cutting-edge and powerful liquid-cooled 4-stroke, 4-valve, SOHC 155cc engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). This engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox that produces different ignition mapping for each gear, capable of pushing 17.7 hp @ 9,500 rpm and a top torque of 14.4 Nm @ 8,000 rpm. It is also equipped with an Assist and Slipper Clutch system that helps reduce the clutch lever load, allowing for ease of gear changing during downshifting.

The 2024 Yamaha Y16ZR comes in three (3) new bold and stylish colors: Violet Knight, Ocean Neon, and Mag Grey. Owners of this new model can get their hands on this stunning ride at all authorized Yamaha Dealers nationwide starting from End January 2024 at a recommended retail price (RRP) of RM11,398 (excluding registration fees and insurance coverage). A safety disc lock worth RM100 will be gifted with every purchase.
